International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Inclusion Starts with Awareness

3 December 2025 marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a day dedicated to raising awareness, promoting accessibility, and celebrating the achievements of people living with disability. At Carepro Disability Services, we use this day to reflect on the importance of inclusion, respect, and support for all members of our community.

Why Inclusion Matters

Disability is a natural part of human diversity. Approximately 1 in 6 Australians live with a disability, each with unique experiences, goals, and challenges. Inclusion means removing barriers—whether physical, social, or attitudinal—so that everyone can participate fully in daily life.

Accessibility Is More Than Ramps

Accessibility goes beyond physical spaces. It includes communication, technology, supportive services, and positive attitudes. At Carepro, we aim to ensure that our participants have access to the resources and support they need to live independent, fulfilling lives.

How We Celebrate Inclusion at Carepro

On this day, we reflect on the ways our team contributes to inclusion every day:

  • Supporting participants to achieve their goals and dreams
  • Advocating for accessibility in the community
  • Encouraging dignity, choice, and independence

What You Can Do

  • Learn about the experiences of people with disability
  • Use inclusive language and attitudes
  • Advocate for accessible spaces in your community

Inclusion starts with awareness… and grows with action.

At Carepro Disability Services, we are proud to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities by reaffirming our commitment to choice, independence, and dignity for all.
