How to Apply for the NDIS

The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) is a government program that provides funding to eligible people with disability to help them live more independent and fulfilling lives. If you think you might be eligible for the NDIS, here are the steps on how to apply

Am i Eligible for NDIS?

Check your eligibility. You can use the NDIS checklist to see if you might be eligible. You need to be younger than 65, live in Australia, and be an Australian citizen or permanent resident. You also need to have a significant and permanent disability that impacts your ability to participate in everyday activities.

Get help from your treating professionals

You will need to provide evidence of your disability from your treating professionals, such as your doctor, psychologist, or allied health provider. They will need to complete the Supporting Evidence Form (SEF).

Complete the Access Request Form (ARF)

You can download the ARF from the NDIS website. You will need to provide information about your disability, your goals, and the supports you need.

You can submit your application online, by mail, or by phone, and other details that will need NDIS Team. Email: Send your completed Access Request Form and supporting information to NAT@ndis.gov.au.  Postal Mail: You can also choose to post your documents to GPO Box 700, Canberra, ACT 2601.
